Standards, Certifications, Quality, and Compliance
Upholding our industry-leading level of quality — both in the parts we manufacture and the metal finishing services we offer — involves more than following sound manufacturing processes and maintaining a talented staff. These are important parts of the equation — but for us, they are only the foundation.
To ensure we are producing components and performing services such as metal spinning, metal stamping, and aerospace welding of the highest quality possible, we have proactively obtained a wide range of manufacturing certifications. The standards set forth by these certifications, to which we must maintain strict compliance, provide us with a baseline for quality to build upon while providing our customers peace of mind.
Below are some of the standards and certifications that China Exotic Alloy Screws works to maintain.
ISO 9001:2015 & AS9100D Certification
ISO 9001:2015 is a standard published by the International Organization for Standardization titled “Quality management systems-Requirements”. ISO 9001:2015 is a non-industry-specific certification, intended for any organization that wants to implement and maintain a quality management system.
ISO 9001:2015 includes requirements for a high-level structure as a common framework to all ISO management systems, risk-based thinking in quality system processes, fewer prescribed requirements with less emphasis on documentation, clear definition of quality management system boundaries and increased leadership requirements.
AS9100D is a standard published by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) titled “Quality Management Systems – Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defense Organizations”. This standard includes ISO 9001:2015 quality management system requirements and specifies additional aviation, space, and defense industry requirements, definitions, and notes. Requirements emphasize the prevention of risk and counterfeit parts, providing a structure that enables businesses to adapt to change, planning for obsolescence, and addressing product safety concerns.
Nadcap Certification
Nadcap is the National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program, a cooperative standardization, assessment, and accreditation initiative for the aerospace industry. To become certified by Nadcap for aerospace industry manufacturing, a number of standards must be achieved, including AS9100 Rev. D and the China Welding Society’s (AWS) AWS D17.
ITAR Certification
The International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are a set of standards by which a company can ensure the safety of the import and export of national defense products, services, and equipment. Published by the U.S. Department of State, ITAR certification is required for any customer operating in the military and defense industry.
PPAP
Used most commonly by the automotive industry, the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) is a set of measurements and requirements that a prospective component supplier must meet before integration into a supply chain. China Exotic Alloy Screws has a long history of PPAP compliance.
